Procedures

Check-In Procedure
Within 5 days of your reservation date, the reservation holder will be contacted to confirm that your group will be attending and to review any arrival details needed for your reservation. Upon arrival at Camp Sidney Dew, each unit or group must check in with the Camp Ranger or Campmaster at the designated check-in area, usually the main parking lot. Weekend camping check-in is between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday evening, unless special arrangements have been made in advance. The reservation holder should have either an electronic or paper copy of the reservation available during the stay. At check-in, the Camp Ranger or Campmaster may confirm the leader-in-charge, the number of youth and adults attending, and the areas or facilities included in the reservation. An accurate headcount is important for emergency purposes. The leader-in-charge should review camp rules, vehicle use, parking expectations, quiet hours, campfire safety, and any program area use with the Camp Ranger or Campmaster. Vehicles must remain in designated parking areas unless permission is given for gear unloading or special circumstances. Units should proceed only to the campsites, facilities, and program areas included in their approved reservation. Any requested use of program areas, equipment, or special facilities should be confirmed during check-in. Please contact the Scout Service Center or Camp Ranger with any issues, concerns, or changes related to your reservation. By checking in, the reservation holder acknowledges that the group has an approved reservation, will follow Camp Sidney Dew rules, and will be responsible for the proper use of the campsite, facility, or program area during the reservation period.
Check-Out Procedure
Each unit or group must complete check-out with the Camp Ranger or Campmaster before leaving Camp Sidney Dew. Check-out time is 12:00 PM unless prior arrangements have been made in advance. Before departure, please complete the following: Ensure your campsite, facility, and program areas are clean and free of trash. All garbage must be collected and taken to the proper camp disposal site or removed from camp. Follow Leave No Trace and pack-in/pack-out expectations. If your group brought in any extra materials, such as bamboo, gateway supplies, decorations, project materials, or other equipment, those items must be removed when you leave. Clean any bathrooms, buildings, shelters, cabins, or facilities used by your group. Areas should be left cleaner than you found them. Extinguish all campfires completely. Ashes should be stirred and checked to make sure there is no remaining heat in the fire ring. Return any borrowed equipment, keys, radios, or other camp property to the proper location as directed by the Camp Ranger or Campmaster. Do not move, modify, rearrange, or alter camp property, facilities, structures, equipment, signs, or natural features without written approval. Confirm with the Camp Ranger or Campmaster that your assigned campsite, building, and/or areas have been inspected and cleared before leaving camp.
